At the Shadows, the primary goal is to preserve for prosperity that which still exists through interpretation rather than mere description, as Weeks Hall would have wanted. While the objects that belonged to generations of a family are presented to the public for their beauty and historical value, that value would be diminished if they did not also tell the story of an era past that continues to intrigue both young and old alike. Weeks Hall said, "FINE THINGS ARE WITHOUT VALUE," and that is surely the case of the rooms of The Shadows and the objects that grace them.
