• The Shadows is the first National Trust for Historic Preservation site in the Gulf South. The home and garden are as breathtaking as the history preserved here.

The Shadows is responsible for its own operating budget and receives no federal, state, parish, or city funding. The site supports itself through admissions, special programs and events, and donations to the Friends of the Shadows.

Join Friends of the Shadows - Preserving the Past for the Future

Whether your passion is history, art, architecture, or education, you can make a difference by making a gift to preserve the past for future generations. We rely on private contributions for the continuation of the preservation efforts, educational programs, and research. When you become a Friend of the Shadows, you join with others, like yourself, who are committed to continuing the work began by Weeks Hall over 50 years ago. Consider a planned gift or become a member today.

Volunteers are integral to the success of the Shadows-on-the-Teche. Volunteers assist with our decades-long education programs, special events, and guided tours for groups of all ages. To view volunteer opportunities at the Shadows, visit our Volunteer Page.
